For what, we ask, is life without a touch of poetry in it?
A favorite lyric from a favorite show. I got to go to a callback yesterday, for the first time since March 2020. The three Ps (pandemic, pregnancy, postpartum) have kept me off the stage for over two years and I would dearly love to do a show this year. Unfortunately this callback had not one but two dance combos, the latter of which was wildly out of my level, so I'm not holding my breath. But it was great to be considered. I'd never auditioned at this theatre before so it's nice to know I can get callbacks from video auditions without knowing anyone. It seemed like a neat place. Pretty far drive for me so I won't go there unless it's a dream show, which this was. But so refreshing to get called back. My last audition was a disaster so I feel a bit of redemption.
Ways I am trying to find poetry in life:
Reading for pleasure every day
Watching Diana find joy in the smallest things, like grabbing a zipper, or seeing someone walking around the corner
Auditioning for things I want to be in even if I don't think I'll get cast
